Martine Wright MBE

Martine Wright has an extraordinary story of transformation, moving from despair to determination and triumph.

In 2005, she lost her legs in the Circle Line bombing during the London terrorist attacks, yet went on to rebuild her life with remarkable purpose. From skydiving and becoming a wife and mother, to captaining the British Paralympic sitting volleyball team and even earning her pilot’s licence, Martine embodies resilience and the power of possibility.

She proudly represented Team GB at the London 2012 Paralympic Games and has since become a familiar face on television, presenting for the BBC and Channel 4 at major events such as the Paralympics and the Invictus Games, as well as working as a roving reporter at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. Her dedication has been recognised with accolades including the 2012 Sports Personality of the Year, Zest Magazine’s Inspirational Woman of the Year and the Vitalise Woman of Achievement award.
